Several members of a fire crew are injured while fighting a fire at an illegal dance warehouse. Most affected is the fire Captain who will surely die if he doesn't receive a lung transplant immediately...
[GWEN] 27, physically strong, the lone female in a fire house crew, she's an attractive, capable, intelligent young woman, often sidelined by her alpha male boss, Captain Carlyle. Determined to prove herself on the job, Gwen is faced with a tough decision when asked whether or not she would be willing to give up a lobe of her lung to save the Captain's life. Initially scared of compromising her career because of future diminished lung capacity, Gwen finds the resolve and courage to make the better choice...GUEST STAR (1)
[CAPTAIN CARLYLE] 45, an alpha male in every way, he is the Captain of a fire team, a strong, focused, but sometimes headstrong man who often sidelines his sole female firefighter, Gwen, telling her that he never wanted a woman on the crew. After sacrificing himself to save a young man, Captain Carlyle will certainly die if he is not given a lung transplant immediately. He is deeply moved to learn that one of his donors was her very own firefighter, Gwen...GUEST STAR (1)
[PATRICK] 20, African-American and overweight, he is trapped in the bathroom of an illegal dance club when the place catches fire. Rescued in the nick of time by Captain Carlyle, he is brought to the hospital with severe breathing problems. David is at first inclined to think that drug use is causing Patrick's respiratory problems. However, Patrick, we later learn, is suffering from a rare syndrome that affects his joints and his lungs...GUEST STAR (1)
[FIREFIGHTER JIMMY] 23, baby-faced, he is the rookie on the crew, given orders to enter the burning dance warehouse while Gwen is left on the outside. Moments later, his life is saved when Gwen is able to lift a heavy beam which has collapsed on top of him. In the hospital, a heroic Jimmy, despite his injuries, offers to donate a lobe from his lung to save the Captain...GUEST STAR (1) PLEASE SUBMIT ALL ETHNICITIES
[PATRICK'S MOTHER] In her mid 40s, African-American, dignified, a fire-and-brimstone Pentecostal, she is Patrick's mother. She races to the hospital, horrified to find her son is such a dire condition. She is upset and outraged when David even suggests that her son's breathing problems are the result of drug use...POSSIBLE ONE DAY GUEST STAR (3)
[THEO] Late 30s to early 40s. Second in command, this firefighter tells Andy that none of Captain Carlyle's family lives nearby. He, too, is eager to donate a lobe from his lung to save the Captain...3 scenes (4) PLEASE SUBMIT ALL ETHNICITIES
