Fox has ordered three additional scripts from sophomore drama "Lie to Me."

Because the show was a midseason replacement, the crime procedural, which launched behind "American Idol," received a 13-episode second-season pickup.

In its sophomore year, "Lie to Me," helmed by new showrunner Shawn Ryan, has been off to a soft ratings start on Mondays, regularly shedding a significant chunk of its "House" lead-in.

In the past several years, the broadcast networks regularly ordered additional scripts in lieu of straight back-nine orders.

This fall, sophomore "Glee," veteran "One Tree Hill" and freshmen "NCIS: Los Angeles," "The Good Wife," "Modern Family," "Cougar Town" and "FlashForward" all received back-nine episodic orders, with only two series, the CW's new entries "Vampire Diaries" and "Melrose Place," landing script orders instead.
